March 25 th, 1964 - the first passenger flight was operated from Domodedovo airport. On this day a Tu-104 aircraft flew from Moscow (Domodedovo) to Sverdlovsk. A young woman with an infant was the first passenger to board the plane.

Since then over 393 million passengers have visited Moscow International Airport Domodedovo. The airport has undergone dramatic changes: the passenger terminal has been fully reconstructed and today meets the highest international standards of service quality. Every year the amount of passengers, traveling through Domodedovo airport grows and it has become one of the main airports of the country.

Preserving memories of the amount of work and effort put into the construction of the airport the Domodedovo museum treasures unique photos and archive documents that mark milestones of the airports development. When creating the museum, airport staff and veterans gathered the collection piece by piece, restoring the names of the main participants of the historical events. It is by virtue of their scrupulous work, that now we have a unique opportunity to learn more about the largest airport of the country.

Celebrating the flight anniversary on March 25 th, 2009 Domodedovo airport and Ural airlines organized a trip from Moscow (Domodedovo) to Yekaterinburg (former Sverdlovsk) (Koltsovo) for media representatives and airport veterans. Each passenger was presented a memorable certificate and offered champagne.

Today, the share of Domodedovo International Airport in the passenger turnover of the Moscow Aviation Hub adds up to over 47%. 78 airlines operate regular flights on 211 destinations worldwide.

Only in 2008 such airlines as Lufthansa, American Airlines, Etihad, Aegean Airlines, Arkia, Israir, Wind Rose and Region-avia became partners of the airport. The route network of Domodedovo is quite unique: flights on 88 destinations are operated only and exclusively from Domodedovo in the Moscow Aviation Hub.
